Walking along the motorway, from the capital of the island, Pigadia, to the north of the east side, you will find yourself on a magical journey, combining lacy beaches, mountain and green. Arriving around the center of the island, you will meet the mountainous village of Spoa, having a view of the open sea.

A “bunch” of houses on the slope, they are located in the narrowest part of the island, and they view two seas.

Spoa can see the two best hours of the Karpathian Sea: the east and the west.

A village with live tradition, folklore, a village that, from its roots, revives and keeps unchanging the hospitality and the friendship, characteristics that distinguish the village of Spoa until today.

There, even in a few minutes stop, you will be impressed by the pure character of the people who will greet you, treat you generously and catch a conversation with you, even if you are totally unknown to them.

If luck brings you in days of celebrating customs and traditions, you will feel as if you are also a member of their society.

This rural village is one of the most authentic in Karpathos. The lyre sounds in the alleys, and the wood-burners of the houses smoke to bake bread.

The valuable treasure of this village, however, is more coastal and is the enchanting and picturesque bay with its crystal clear and transparent beaches.
