16 km from the Pigadia is the seaside village of Arkasa.
It is built in a fertile area and impresses its visitors with its evergreen nature, its beautiful beaches and its important historical monuments.
On the hill Palaiokastro you will see the relics of the ancient city of Arkesia. The remains of the early christian basilica of Agia Anastasia, dating back to the 5th century, are preserved in the same area. Its characteristic is its exquisite mosaic floors, parts of which will be seen in the open-air area of the temple. The mosaic of the floor has been transferred to the museum of Rhodes.
While staying in the area, visit the monasteries of Agia Sophia and Ypapanti.
You will swim at the beach of Agios Nikolaos and Agios Georgios. A few kilometers outside of Arkasa, you will meet the village of Finiki, with its small fishing harbor and the stunning beaches of Fokia, Adeia, Akrotiri and Pronni.
