There are many places where the visitor can stop to do his shopping in Karpathos.

Pigadia, the bustling capital, is the center of the island and is particularly suitable for long walks in the dozens of shops they have. Especially in the summer months, the shops are always full, both on the shopping street and on the beach street.

There are shops that can satisfy all needs: From newspapers and magazines, to modern clothes and shoes, in combination with many of the traditional products of the island.

Apart from the capital, however, the traveler can also find in other villages many souvenirs such as handmade textiles, painted ceramics, dishes, wooden toys and kitchen items.

Local honey and oil, as well as wine, are sold in most parts of the island.

Olympos, one of the most touristic destinations of the island, has shops with tourist items, where the famous traditional costumes dominate, as well as the musical instruments that are still made by its inhabitants. The walk to its central square passes through small shops, with traditional foods and souvenirs, such as the Carpathian stevania.
